History

Back in 1971, Gary Vermeer spoke to a cattle rancher about how time-consuming and difficult it was to bale hay effectively. This inspired him, and he founded Vermeer® to fix that problem. Gary created a “big, round baler” towards that end which could make hay bales ten times the size other balers could produce. With that single move, Gary Vermeer® changed the hay baling game forever, turning a multi-person and time-consuming operation into a one-person job that was easy and fast.
